Trains, Snowcones, and Carousels!

After Levi's Fini-Flight, we had planned on going swimming at the hotel, but go figure the pool was closed for maintenance. So we made the even better choice to head to Meadowlake Park for one last hoorah!!! The boys had been looking forward to the park opening all spring, but I kept reminding them that we were going to be in Kansas by the time everything opened, so to have this opportunity was priceless! We've loved spending some summer nights at that park the past two years. And this year made it even more exciting because the carousel was finally up and running!!
The boys ran right to the train and sat in "their" seat- the backwards facing seat in the very back! They love this spot!! Cuddles came along for the ride too, of course!

And as soon as the train ride was done, we hopped over to the carousel. We had the pick of the horses, as we were the only riders. After a look around, Grant decided he wanted to share the bench with me (luckily, because things that go round and round AND up and down don't sit well with me), and Wyatt found the US Navy horse which was just perfect to sit next to his Snugglebug!

While we would've loved to add mini-golf to our agenda, time didn't allow, but you better believe we made time for snowcones!!
So happy we got to spend one more summer night at Meadowlake!

Moving Day

For weeks upon weeks, we lived with this mess.....
It literally seemed like a never ending pack-fest. I felt like we were getting nowhere fast! But luckily I have an amazing husband with an amazing work ethic and he worked so hard to fit every ounce of our belongings into this truck!  I couldn't believe it all fit!! I told Levi it was the hardest, longest, and most challenging game of Tetris we had ever played!! And we won!!
And then on May 23, 2014 we drove away from our home on Buggy Whip.

And it was time to begin our new journey in Kansas.....

Spring Pictures

I love taking my boys' pictures. I get so excited to pick out outfits, find the perfect place to sit them, at the right time of day. And then I start clicking away....and....nothing. Eyes closed, goofy faces, forced smiles.
Case in point....

But then as things get moving and we start to venture around different spots (luckily, we have a lot of places to choose from around our house!), things start to get better!! And then I finally capture my boys' sweet faces, their precious smiles, their boyish charm.

My sweet boys. The loves of my life!! How lucky I am to be their mom! They are the greatest gift I could ever imagine!!

Cuties in Canola

One of the most beautiful sights in Oklahoma in the spring time is the canola fields! Last year I never made an official stop to take pictures, but we did a quick roadside stop on the way home from school one day. So this year, I wanted to make sure I did an official photo shoot! I was happy to see that one of the fields we pass every morning on the way to school was not only un-gated, it also had an old chair out there, which basically was an open invitation for pictures, right?!? At least I thought so!
So one beautiful non-windy day after school, I took the boys for some beautiful photos! Although the field was beautiful, I would've loved to see the fields after a few days of rain! It was so dry out there and those poor canola flowers just weren't as vibrant as they were last year. But it still made for a pretty backdrop. It helps to have two cuties posing out there too! Any background looks good with them in front of it!

Oh my precious babies!!! How I love them so!

Enjoying Nature

We will miss so much of our life here in Enid. Friends. School. Church. Neighbors. We have really enjoyed our time here (well, if you don't include the ridiculous work hours for Levi!). One thing in particular I know we will miss is the land around our house. We really have a good set up going on here. And I know I've written about it before, but every time we are out in our yard, I can't help but think how thankful I am we have had the opportunity to live here!
I know the boys will miss it for sure. Lately, on the days we've had good weather, we've been enjoying nature down at the pond at the culdesac. Grant has found his favorite tree to climb and we've enjoyed roasting marshmallows and having fires! Such happy times as a family!! While our new house has a large yard, we won't have the luxury of woods, and ponds, and firepits. So we're enjoying nature here in Waukomis while we still can!

Almost Summer Play

We had a few unseasonably warm days and we took full advantage! One afternoon it got up to the upper 80s, low 90s. Since the boys are so so so excited to move to our new house to have a pool, they are just waiting and waiting to go swimming! But they decided a big bucket of water works just as well!! Wyatt got a set of new water guns for his birthday they were just itching to try! So we swimsuited up and headed outside! They probably played for over an hour!! It was such a delight to sit and relax with the sun on my face!! Made me so excited to have a little taste of summer!

Grant was conducting an experiment, which he likes to do quite often. He was seeing which one crumbled first when it got wet- dirt or chalk. Dirt won!

It's almost summer and WE ARE READY!!!!!!!!!!

Family Fire Pit

Last Saturday was the most beautiful day of the year!! Upper 70's, no wind, no clouds!! Amazing! So we decided to grill out with the McAlear's and have a fire pit after! Unfortunately, Wyatt fell asleep at 6:00, way before fire pit time and there was no waking him up! He was totally bummed the next morning!
So last night, it was just as gorgeous (well, a little bit cooler), so we decided instead of heading to be at 7:00 like usual, we headed down to the woods and have a fire pit instead, which made Wyatt extremely excited! Levi and Grant gathered enough materials for a small fire. Sadly, we used all our marshmallows the week before, so we didn't get to roast anyway, but we still had fun exploring and enjoying some family time!
Grant spent most of his time collecting sticks and climbing trees! I always knew he was part monkey!! Wyatt spent his time finding sticks, sprinkling dirt on our sitting log (thanks Wyatt!), and telling his famous "creepy baby" ghost story (its kind of the cutest thing!). We had a wonderful family evening!! We sure will miss this part of living here!!!

Spring Playing!

Spring is in the air!! Well...maybe not everyday, like today when its 51 degrees. But some days, it feels very springy!! And those days we have been getting outside and doing our thing!! Lots of park playing, bike riding, mud slinging, rock throwing, high swinging, slide sliding kinds of things!! And its been great!!
Bike Riding!
 Pond Playing!
 Rock Climbing!
 Duck Feeding!
 New Wheels!
 Slide sliding, shades wearing!
 "Firemen" Climbing!
 High Swinging!
High Fiving!
Now, if we can consistently have spring weather, imagine all the other things we could do!!!!!!!!
