Muscle Men

My boys like flexing their muscles. Like, a lot. Grant prefers to go shirtless as often as possible, while Wyatt only enjoys that when its not super cold. Apparently strong muscles don't mean you don't get cold easily! Anyway, they love seeing their bulging muscles after I take their pictures. Silly boys!

Happy Easter!!

We woke up Easter morning to a very cold and snowy morning! Snow like we should've seen on Christmas morning!! It was beautiful without a doubt, but didn't quite fall on the right holiday! But it didn't matter to all the kids! They woke up eagerly to see what the Easter Bunny had brought them!
Grant and Wyatt and Piper and Collins came downstairs together to see their Easter treasures!

Once Haylie and Layton came up, it was a scramble to find the dozens and dozens of eggs the Easter Bunny hid!  Then everyone got changed for Easter brunch. We had a delicious meal together and tried to take a few pictures of everyone before they all headed back west. While we didn't get what we were hoping for, we got some keepers for sure!!

 Happy Easter!!!

Broeckelman Birthday Celebration

We had to do a late celebration with the Broeckelman families this year because March was just kind of crazy! But it worked out great because we were able to celebrate Grant and Wyatt's birthday, Haylie's birthday, and Easter all in one weekend!!!
We had been planning a fun activity to do for the party instead of exchanging presents and doing the typical party! I'd say every single kiddo loved that idea as well!! An afternoon at Urban Air was definitely the way to go!! They all bounced their little hearts out!
We went to church afterwards for Saturday Easter service and then came home for pizza and ice cream cake!! These little cuties got to open their presents and play all the way till bedtime!
It was a fun day celebrating our little birthday cuties!!!

Grant's Birthday @ School

Grant had to wait all the way until March 25th to celebrate his birthday at school! That darn Spring Break always gets in the way! But at least its a good excuse to make the birthday celebrations last a while longer! Our school has a very strict guideline when it comes to bringing in food. Nothing homemade, nothing with peanut butter. So we searched over the Approved Food list and decided on Rice Krispie Treats!
I got to come in and help celebrate! He passed out his treats, and everyone sang to him! While the rest of the kids wrote Grant a letter, he and I got to sneak over to the reading corner and read a book together! We love any chance to read a Bean Dog and Nugget book (I'm Nugget!).
It was special day celebrating a special guy!!

Tooth Fairy Visit #6

Grant hasn't lost a tooth since June 23rd LAST YEAR!!! Can't believe its been so long!
He had been trying to pull a fast one on me for a few days saying, "I lost my tooth!" I'd respond with, "You did???" Then he'd say, "No, April Fools." Would've been a good joke, but it was mid-March!!!! So after a few times of him doing it, I kind of ignored it. Sure, the tooth was dangling by a thread and it could fall out any day, but he's been known to leave a tooth like that in there for much longer periods of time.
One morning, while brushing before school, he shouts from the bathroom, "I lost me tooth!" Levi and I went on with our conversation and didn't miss a beat- until he ran into our bedroom with a mouth full of blood and a tooth in his hand! Guess the story about the Boy who cried "Wolf!" is true!!
I was so excited that the darn thing had finally fallen out!!
See that little hole on the bottom right?

He wrote this little note to the Tooth Fairy and set his tooth his little heart dish and put the lid on it!
He woke up to a $2 bill, a $1 bill, and 4 quarters. Tooth Fairy must've been cleaning out her change wallet!
I have a feeling tooth #7 and #8 aren't too far behind!

Easter Egg Time

I hope my boys never outgrow Easter egg coloring!! Each year, their approach is a little different than the year before. This year, I only got the small package of colors- the one that comes with the cups. Should've looked closer at that because instead of having like 8 or 9 colors to choose from, we had 5. But that didn't stop them. They went for the two-color per egg approach. And they turned out beautiful!! 18 eggs were colored in no time at all!! But the color on their fingers lasted for days!

Lucky Mama

Another year I am so very very thankful to be this boys' mom!! It's the best job in the whole wide world and I can't imagine doing anything other than being their mom! Thankful God has chosen to entrust their little live into my hands! I will never take it for granted!

Painting and a Party

I bought my mom a gift certificate to Pinot's Palette for Christmas. Something fun I knew she would never treat herself to. After looking for a fun painting for us all to do together, one finally caught our eye! So the VanAllen boys came to play at our house while me, Sara, and Mom heading to paint! It was a fun outing for the three of us to do together. We never get time to be together anymore, so this was such a treat for us all! The painting was fun, easy, and turned out very adorable!!
My mom and I were matching in our black and white stripes!

We grabbed some pizzas on the way home, and met all the boys over at Mimi and PawPaw's house for dinner and a birthday treats for our March birthday boys!

Lots of special treats going on that day for us all!

March 15, 2016

The morning of your birthday is always so exciting- almost as exciting as Christmas morning! Since it fell on Spring Break, we didn't have to wake up early and get moving too quickly, which is always nice for you guys!! But we all got up  slowly and came downstairs and you both were surprised to find presents on the fireplace! I always love that you guys never expect presents and just get so tickled when you get them!!
 Hero Factory? Say What???

After presents came birthday pancakes- our family tradition!

Then it was time to get dressed because Grant had American Ninja Warrior camp at 360. So we dropped him off and Levi, Wyatt, and I ran a few errands. After we picked up Grant, we had a special surprise for lunch- Orange Leaf! It's not every day you get a huge bowl of frozen yogurt for lunch!! And on top of that- the cousins met us there for a surprise!
They were staying at a hotel for the day while their floors got worked on, so we headed on over there for some swimming! Grant had the class mascot, Albert, over Spring Break, so he came swimming too!
After swimming, it was back to 360 for Wyatt's practice and then the cherry on top of the day was Chick Fil A for dinner, always a fan favorite!
What a special day celebrating my two special fellas! I love that you share a birthday and I love that I can make your day just as special as you two cuties!!!
