Crazy Game Night

Let's just pretend I'm not 4-5 months behind on my blog and these posts are still currently relevant, mmmmmkay??

What's better than a Friday night filled with endless board games?!? Not many things, at least in our house! We love a good game night! The night before, the boys each picked out a few games they wanted to include and we said we wouldn't go to bed until we played EVERY SINGLE ONE. And we did!!! And our evening was filled with a whole lot of silliness, laughs, snacks, and smiles! A refreshing night for my soul indeed!

First off- Slides and Surprises!

 Next, a game Grant made up involving backgammon and playing cards? No one really understood it, even Grant...but I guess thats what made it fun?!?

 Life! Oh this game! I have a love/hate with this one. Obviously the laughs this game produces are EPIC!!! But oh, how it can lead us down a rabbit hole of wildness that is sometimes hard to come back from! But we made it through til retirement!

 Simon Air! Always a good one..unless its Friday and your brain is fried because you're still trying to get into the school and work routine, and your husband has been gone for over a month and, well- you just survived a game of Life. Needless to say, I did not do well on Simon Air. But once again- made for a good laugh!

 Time for Clue!! They're finally getting around to understanding this game! And I love it because its always been one of my faves!

 Catch Phrase! Not many words on there did they actually understand, but when one did come up that they knew, they did awesome!! 

 Bounce Off!!!!

And then it was time for The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, all snuggled up with my little punkin munchkin on popcorn! 

3rd Grade Plaza Field Trip

I am so fortunate to work with some amazing co-workers who covered for me so I could attend this special 3rd grade field trip with my favorite 3rd grader! A scavenger hunt around the Plaza looking for special landmarks. Wouldn't you know it, this day was right in the middle of an extreme heatwave!!! And we felt every bit of that! We tried our best to walk on the shaded areas and stop in as many air conditioned places we could! But I wouldn't trade one bead of sweat to be anywhere else than that field trip with my big fella!!

 This is how we all felt as we walked back to meet the bus...super hot and super tired!

The Lego Ninjago Movie

Legos have been a HUGE part of our lives since Grant discovered their awesomeness back when he was 4!! We even have a room in our house dedicated only to Legos!! When the Lego Movie came out back in 2014, we saw it in the theater 3 times and bought it the day it came to DVD!! Then Lego Batman came out and we saw that in theaters and bought it the day it came to DVD.  The Lego Ninjago Movie was definitely on our "must-see" list since we saw the previews for the during the Lego Batman movie!! We got super lucky this time because my friend had passes to see an early screening of the movie before it even hit theaters!!! We happened to have 4 passes, so it worked out perfectly that Luke was spending the night with us! We LOVED the movie and cannot wait until its out on DVD so we can buy it...probably the day it comes to DVD! :)

Happy 1/2 Birthday!!!

Time to make brownies and brush off the birthday plates because its your HALF-BIRTHDAY!!!! I can't believe 6 months has already passed since your birthdays! You both have grown and changed so much in these 6 months! So proud of the kind and loving boys you are growing into!!

Now, when you blow out those candles, wish for time to slow down (please?!??!?!!?)

Off to Flight School

Levi accepted a job with Envoy Airlines, a subsidiary of American Airlines. We are so excited for his new journey to begin! To finally be doing what he truly wants to do- be a pilot again! After a 15 day trip to Korea for the Navy Reserve, he had 3 days at home before heading off to the first part of flight training. We soaked up as much time as we could!!

GWEN Updates

The GWEN sat untouched for most of the summer. My boys really are not fans of being hot. Well, unless they are in the pool. But with some cooler temps, they headed out to the GWEN to give it some TLC and a few updates!  Mostly furniture and weapon storage, because BOYS. Its become the new favorite hangout! 

 Man, what I wouldn't give to have this space when I was a kid!! I love that they have this space to make lots of wonderful childhood memories!!!
