We had an astounding 1/10" of rain last night! I know, amazing right (HA!)! Most rain we've had in over two months!! So amazing in fact, there were a few measly puddles in the culdesac that were just screaming to be jumped in!! It was actually rather cool this morning- probably upper 60's- so we headed outside first thing this morning. My mom is here this weekend, so she explored the puddles with the boys! They loved stomping around in their boots, although Grant was disappointed that the puddles weren't very deep! Maybe someday we will have an actual rain again!!
After puddle jumping, they moved on to bike riding- another activity we haven't done in about 2 months! They both are about too big for each of their bikes. Grant has his two-wheeler that will hopefully get a lot of use this fall. Grant's trike he has now is still a little too big for Wyatt, so not sure what he will do! Oh well, we'll cross that path when we get there, which hopefully will be sooner rather than later (as far as temperature goes!). Grant just HAD to have his umbrella out, even though there wasn't a raindrop to be found! I guess you can never be too prepared!
Once bike riding was over, they wanted to dig in the mud. However, the rain barely got the ground wet, so there was no mud to be found- just really dry dirt with a tiny coating of sprinkles. But that didn't stop them from digging and filling up their wagon and wheelbarrow. They love to play in the brick pile, which are extra bricks from building our house. Nothing like a real set of Legos to entertain boys outside!!
It was a beautiful morning and I cannot wait for the weather to be cooler so we can have many more moments like this soon!! Well, hopefully soon!
