Coloring Eggs

Grant was super excited to color eggs this year! Frankly, I was excited too! I missed out on the action last year since Wyatt was a tiny newborn, my mom did the egg coloring with Grant. The year before that, Grant watched his cousins color eggs from his highchair, so this was MY first experience coloring eggs with Grant!
We started off disrobing Grant. I'm kind of OCD about my kids' clothes and them getting stained. I put alot of effort into picking out their wardrobe and I hate when they get ruined! So I stripped Grant down to his undies, but he didn't want that, so he insisted on wearing an art smock. (Funny story- he called it a Swampfox, which is Levi's squadron mascot. I can see how he got confused! But the fact that he even requests an "art smock" makes me laugh too!! Oh, the things he learns from Max and Ruby.) So once an oversized Swampfox t-shirt, aka- the art smock, was located we got to work. I have to say the coloring was just awesome!! They were so vibrant and bright!! We had 12 eggs and 9 colors, so we had a whole rainbow of eggs! We wrote each persons name on an egg, as well as one for Levi! They turned out great!
We learned our lesson about hiding real eggs though when I was a kid. I think I was about 7 or 8 and my mom always hid our eggs the night before Easter. So Easter morning rolled around and we did our egg hunt inside because it was rainy, except one egg came up missing. My mom couldn't remember where all the eggs were hidden, so we looked everywhere, but no luck. Weeks, even months, went by without finding the egg, although we could smell it- terribly!!! I think a good 2-3 months after Easter, we finally found the rotting egg on the top of our grandfather clock. From that day on, the eggs we color only become deviled eggs and good old plastic eggs are hiding eggs!

Hilarious!

This kid is not only cute, but he's hilarious!! He is so loud ALL THE TIME!! He fake laughs and then laughs at himself afterwards. He yells all the time. He spits all the time! He is just crazy! But his new thing is gasping, and this is the face he makes as he does it:

All Hairscut

Wyatt has had a tiny haircut a few months ago. Levi just cut around his ears because he was being mistaken for a girl. But he was so squrimy that time around, we didn't even attempt an all-hairs-cut!! Then we came to Kansas we went to the barber shop my nephews have been going to for years. Grant has had his haircut there before as well! So it was only fitting to take Wyatt there for his first official haircut! He definitely was NOT excited for it and started crying the second he sat in the seat. I had to hold him under the cape the entire time! He SCREAMED every second of the way! But it sure turned out super cute!! He looked so much older, and definitely does not resemble a girl in any way!!

The sucker was a quick diversion, but even that didnt make it better!
Wyatt gave a friendly handshake when it was all said and done, so no hard feelings I guess!

Kansas Grass

I have a strong love for Kansas grass! It's soft, lush, green, and I just love walking barefoot in it! This is something I cannot do in Florida- our grass is hard, prickly, yellowish-green, and most of all- not barefoot capable!!! I love coming to Kansas in the spring because the grass is perfect this time of year!! Wyatt normally hates being on our grass at home- I have to put shoes on him just to play in our water table in the front yard! But since we've been in Kansas, he's LOVED sitting in the grass and walking in the grass just as much as I have!
