Springfield Meet, Part II

Wyatt was super pumped for his meet! He puts on that uniform and he just oozes swagger! It's so cute! I can't get enough of this little fella and dressed and ready to compete. My heart always starts racing as soon as they line up and sing the national anthem. It was a long meet with ALOT of boys competing! Wyatt had his struggles and didn't place near as high as he had in the past, but he didn't care and neither did we! It was a fun little getaway, new experience for the team, and an opportunity to learn and grow as a gymnast!!! That's what matters!
This is his warrior pose- to psych himself up to perform!!

Springfield Meet, Part I

Since moving up to Level 5 this season, we knew this season would probably include an out of town meet. We found out it would be in Springfield and that made Wyatt super happy because he knew there was a Moe's there!!!!! I was super excited too! Originally, we thought Levi wasn't going to be in town for it, so Grant was planning to stay home and it would be just me and Wyatt on a little road trip, but when Levi found out he'd be in town, we made it a little family overnight!!
It had been a REALLY long time since the boys had stayed at a hotel, so they were excited to spend the night and enjoy the hotel amenities, ahem- the pool!!! Their eyes were huge when we walked into the hotel- it was really fancy!
We got checked into our room, did a quick change, and headed to the pool. Since there was a HUGE gymnastics meet going on, there were a lot of kids at the hotel, so the pool was super busy! These guys aren't used to public pools and didn't do too well with the crowd, so we dried off and headed to Moe's. It was soooooooooooo yummy!!!! The trip to Moe's alone was worth the trip!!!

Since we ate an early enough dinner, we made it back to the hotel as most everyone else was heading out to dinner, so we had virtually the whole pool to ourselves, plus a few of Wyatt's teammates.

Then it was time to rest up because there was a big meet happening the next day!!!!

Muscle Man Wyatt

Wyatt is kind of obsessed with his muscles. He likes working the pull-up bar multiple times throughout the day and he definitely likes flexing! I guess if my arms looked that ripped too, I might show them off or be a little more motivated to keep them looking good!
I guess gymnastics does a body good!

Last Meet- Regionals!!!

The boys had their last meet of the season and what a great season it has been! They all were pumped and ready to rock! Their confidence in themselves and in their confidence as a team just grew and grew this season! It was so much fun to watch!! All the boy did SO great!
Wyatt placed 1st out of 9 in his age division. He had his highest score of the season with a 55.7 and he had a personal best on rings with a 10.3!

Grant placed 5th out of 6 in his age division. He finished with his highest score of the season with a 50.8 and he scored his personal best on vault with a 9.2.
Their team placed 2nd overall, just two points away from 1st place!
Grant got to bring home the team trophy because he got his back hip circle on the high bar for the very first time! It's a skill he's been working on for two years now and because his legs house 2/3 of his body weight, its always been hard! He was beaming from ear to ear when his team chose him to take the trophy home!! So proud Bub!
We are SO proud of our boys and how hard they worked ALL season long! I love gymnastics because while its a team sport, your individual achievements keep you working and striving to get better and better! We can't wait til next meet season!

Emerald City Meet

We've had some great meets so far this season! I'm always amazed at the butterflies I get in my stomach as each even starts. I get so nervous for my guys.  But they always seem to impress! Such a great group of boys this year! And we can't say enough good stuff about their coaches too- just the best!!
Look at this cute team!!
This was Grant's 2nd meet and he was so great getting out there and doing his thing!!

Overall, they were very happy!! The team placed 2nd overall. Wyatt placed 2nd out of 9 and Grant placed 8th out of 9.

360 Meet

This was an exciting meet, because not only was it our home meet, but it was also Grant's 1st time competing!!! It was a super cold, super snowy day and while a day at home would've been just fine with us, we were also hoping the meet wasn't cancelled! And thank goodness it wasn't! Even Mimi and PawPaw got to come! PawPaw had never been to a meet at all, so it was all sorts of special! We had a super great time watching our 360 boys compete!!!
Grant did great for not only his first meet, but also going first at each event. It was a little nerve-wracking for him and a bit overwhelming, but he went out there and did his thing! I was so proud of him for getting out there and trying his very best!! He got 6th place (out of 6) which he wasn't too happy about. But it was a great learning experience for him and he can't wait to get back out there!!
Wyatt did great too! After a horrible slip on the mushroom, he inched his way back to the 2nd place spot, just .5 points behind his teammate, Creighton! He did get a 10.0 on the high bar, which was a personal record for him on that event! Couldn't have been more excited!!
The team placed 3rd overall. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd were all decided by .1 of a point! It was such a close meet!!! Thats why its so exciting!
Happy gymnasts right there!!!

2nd Place Wyatt

Wyatt placed 2nd place at his 2nd meet! He was so excited to get to his second meet after the first one went so well! There were a lot of kids in this meet! He was competing against 12 kids in his age division. He missed a key element in his high bar routine, and also one in his floor routine, so he was docked a few points for those, but he only missed 1st place by .5 of a point- so so close!! The good thing was though was his teammate took 1st place, so it was awesome to be able to share the top spots with his teammate! He was super happy he got a silver medal and is already gearing up for the 3rd meet!!! What fun it is to watch his confidence and skill continue to grow and grow!!
We love you and are SO proud of you Wyguy!!!
Getting his medal
Salute!
