KU Basketball

KU basketball became a family affair this year!! Last year, with the boys both playing in their first official basketball season, they became more aware of college and NBA games. Theyd want to know the score and if we won or lost, but they had zero interest in actually watching a game. But this year- they watched every single game with me (that didn't come on after bedtime!) and oh, how I loved it!!! Levi still isn't necessarily a KU fan- he will watch for me, but he doesn't have feelings towards the games either way, so its nice to watch with TRUE fans!! :)
Grant spent some time on the computer one evening printing off pictures of their main 7 players, and whenever one of them would score, he'd hold up their picture and cheer! So cute! Those papers are now hanging on the wall around his bed.
He picked out a Svi jersey for his birthday- not just because he turned 10 but because Svi was probably his favorite player because he says he looks like him :)
Wyatt was definitely into the games as well. He was more curious about how the game works- 1st grade basketball doesn't have all these rules. He loved me explaining all the rules to him! On this day, he sat as close to the TV as he could so he could "really feel like he was there."
KU won 1st place in the Big 12 season, 1st place in the Big 12 tournament, and they made it all the way to the Final Four! Villanova shot lights out and definitely left the Jayhawks in their dust, but we were very excited to have made it that far!!
This kid had all the emotions during the games. The ups and downs of a KU fan! At the end of the game, he definitely cried big tears that they didn't make it to the championship, but moreso because he has to wait a good 7 months before another KU game is on TV! He's already researching the new recruits next year and he has KU tickets on his wishlist!!!!!

Time to Color Eggs

I had everything set up on the table as soon as they walked in the door from school and they said, "YAY!!!!! We get to color eggs today!!!" I love their holiday excitement still!!! I got the deluxe coloring pack, so they had 9 colors to choose from- plus I got the little stamps that we used last year since they loved using those to add their details. Goodness, these boys spent a lot of time on their 7 eggs they each had. I couldn't believe how detailed they got with each egg!!! Each one was a masterpiece!!

Easter Egg Snack Hunt

We've done an Easter Egg food hunt since 2012 and this year, it almost slipped past me! We are SO busy these days, dinner at home is always rushed! Plus, the amount of food these boys eat doesn't exactly fit into 12 little easter eggs. So I did the next best thing- I had their after school snack hidden and ready to find as soon as they got home from school!!!
And they're off!!!!!

I definitely didn't win any prizes on the nutritional value of this snack, but they fact that we got to do it scored me big points in the boys books!! I will ALWAYS do these things as long as they continue to ask. I love that they still love a good holiday tradition!!!!

Morse Easter Egg Hunt

It might have been a VERY chilly morning for an Easter Egg Hunt, but that definitely didn't stop these kiddos from hunting with all their might!! I love our neighborhood and all the kids it brings!! Such a great community! It took them all of 2 minutes to fill their baskets FULL of eggs!!! They opened them up, took out the goodies, and dumped the eggs back in the bin to use again next year!! Then it was time for the very cold bike ride back home!!

Adventure Landing, Part II

...and more fun!!

Wyatt actually hit a 1000 ticket jackpot and the machine ran out of tickets!! By lunchtime, we had SO many tickets, they needed their own seat at lunch....

By 3:00, we decided to cash out our tickets- soooo many prizes- and head to the airport to ride the SkyLink around since the boys had never really experienced a real airport. It was a fun time riding around and then stopping for lunch in the International Terminal to check out the BIG planes! Dallas is a pretty cool airport, we couldv'e just spent our 1 day vacation there!!
And Daddy even got to sit with us on the plane- we thought he'd have to sit in a jumpseat since the flight was full, but we got one extra spot so he got to sit with the boys and show them some cool things only pilots know!!
It was such a fun little vacation and makes us wonder where we want to travel next??

Adventure Landing, Part I

It was a big birthday year for Grant- I mean, you only turn double-digits one time- so we had to celebrate in a big way! Also, a Spring Break birthday has always called for a trip!! But now that we are actually able to travel easily, we jumped at the chance. Once we finally decided on Dallas, we decided to figure out what our activity of the day would be. We settled on Adventure Landing- an arcade/amusement park place. Go-Carts, mini-golf, laser tag, bumper boats, arcade- what more could we need?? After breakfast at the hotel, we got to Adventure Landing as soon as it opened. Good thing too because it got crowded fast!! But getting there early allowed us to do a round of mini golf and a round of go carts without waiting in any lines! We spent all day there and had LOTS of fun....

March 15, 2018

We spent the night at Aunt Sara's on the night of the 14th, so my mom could drive us to the airport (she was staying at their house while they were on vacation). So we woke up and sang Happy Birthday and had donuts!! We got our KU gear on (Big 12 tournament was starting!) and we headed off to the airport to hop a flight to Dallas to meet up with Daddy!

The boys hadn't been on a plane since December 2011, so neither of them could remember anything about airports or airplanes and they were SO excited!!!! We had to get on the standby list, and it was Spring Break, so we weren't sure how it was all going to work out. We were on the list for the 12:30 flight, but as we were waiting to board, it didn't look good- no room! I kept prepping the boys that we may not get on, and once we got the news that we didn't, they were definitely bummed! But we got our list for the nest flight and headed down to terminal to find some lunch! Perfect timing too, because the KU game was just tipping off!
We found out we were going to get on the next flight, and it worked out SO great because we boarded just after KU won the game!! Phew!! Time to fly!!
The boys were so excited sitting down and getting their seats prepped. They looked out the window, checked what was in their seat pocket, and listened to the safety video intently. They were smiling so big during takeoff!!! They both had downloaded a movie on Netflix and just chilled the whole way there! They absolutely loved flying!!!

And as soon as we walked off the plane, Daddy was waiting for us at the gate!! We picked up our rental car, checked into our hotel, and headed off to dinner. And we found a Moe's!!!!!!!!!!!! Such a great way to cap off their birthday day!!!
We ended the night with a little swimming at the hotel pool, but these guys are definitely not used to swimming at public pools, so they didn't last long. But it was time for bed because we had a big Adventure planned for the next day!
