It's so easy to get into a rut when you're a stay at home mom with stay at home kids. Each day seems the same, and monotony sets in. That's where I'm at. And I needed to change it up. So, today, we had a little Monday Funday! Wyatt got up extremely early- 5:15- thanks to a poopy diaper! And by 7:45 both boys were already begging me to come upstairs and play Sea World. (Grant loves to pretend to be a dolphin or Shamu and I'm supposed to be his trainer). I love the kid, but that's not my idea of fun at 7:45am. So I asked him if he wanted to play some school games since we haven't done that for a while. (We sold our kitchen table a few weeks ago, so we've had no place to do anything.) He was very excited and it just so happens I printed off some great activities last night! (Most everything came from here and here. And I made up the rest of the stuff.) Of course, while Grant does his work, I have to have Wyatt busy with something. So I pulled out the Valentine gems and mud playdoh. After about an hour of preschool (YIPPEE!), I decided to make snow for the boys so I could get some things done around the house! These boys LOVE snow! And I managed to get a couple emails and phone calls done. After lunch out with friends and a nice naptime, we pulled out the Orbeez. I normally just make enough for a little bowls worth, but today, since it was Monday Funday we made a HUGE bowl worth, and we all had a super fun time!
It was a nice change of pace from playing Batcave, or Sea World, or Ocean Rescue Boat. Hopefully once we move, we will get back into our daily preschool routine and hopefully find a good preschool for Grant too! But I sure do enjoy being able to witness all these moments with my boys. Even if they do give me gray hairs!
