Slip Sliding Fun!!

Some of our best friends moved right next door to some of our other best friends, who happen to live across the street from us! So many friends within walking distance is just AWESOME!! Our kiddos started kindergarten together-Grant, Jalen, and Luca- and now the second-go-around of kindergarteners are starting together too- Wyatt, Rex, and Marietta! Makes for lots of fun friend-filled summer afternoons!!!
Angela bought a slip n slide to enjoy when they had some friends stay with them for the 4th of July, but all the kids thought they should test it out beforehand, ya know- just to make sure it works! I'd say they broke it in pretty darn well!!!

Its so awesome to have best friends as neighbors!!!!!

June Millie Update

Our little Millie baby is growing up!! Luckily she's still small enough we can scoop her up and snuggle her whenever we want to! She had her first grooming appointment, where she got her face trimmed and her nails clipped. Baths still take 2-3 people to wrangle her. She will sleep anywhere, but likes sleeping on things, like blankets, towels, piles of clothes. She LOVES sleeping on the AC vent in the living room and the blue tile down at Mimi and PawPaw's. She likes eating bugs and rabbit poop outside. She loves her brothers and just wants to play play play!

Wood Building with Daddy

Grant had been begging to get into Levi's stash of wood scraps to do some building! It was finally decent enough outside and we had a free weekend morning, so these fellas pulled out the wood and the power tools and got busy. Levi told them they could build whatever they wanted. My boys, being two very different creatures, went about this concept very differently! Grant dove in, just cutting and hammering and just going with it. Wyatt had to sit back and ponder what to make, how to make it. It was almost too open-ended for him that he was overwhelmed!! Once he got his idea, he went with it, but it definitely was harder for him than it was for Grant. Wyatt definitely had a picture in his head of what he wanted to build but had NO idea how to make that a reality! Grant didn't have a picture in his head, so he just built for the sake of building! But each fella came out with a very personal creation of their very own!!! And maybe a small affection for power tools!

Wyatt built a shelf for the Lego room to hold his creations, and Grant built...um...I think its a plane?

Moon Marble Company

Moon Marble has been on my list of places to venture to the past two summers, but we never made it! So this year, I made sure it happened. We asked the Holthaus' to tag along and of course, that made it more fun. But its hard to not have fun when you walk into the coolest toy store EVER!!! This place was amazing! Grant and I both were wishing our wallets were a little bit thicker at that time!! But we still managed to enjoy it to the fullest!!! We walked around the store for about 30 minutes before the marble-making tour started. Lots of "oh look at this!" and "Oh I so want that!" It was hard to not get overwhelmed with all the treasures!!!
We watched a guy make a marble! What a process! It took about 30 minutes to make one marble. Granted, he talked a lot and stopped to show how it was looking, but wow!! What patience it would take! And such an amazing art form!!
After the show, it was time to fill a tube of marbles. There had to have been over 100 types of marble to choose from! We probably could've spent quite a few hours at that place just oohing and aahing over all the cool toys!!
We will definitely be making another trip there soon!!!

Lake Day!

We were able to squeeze one day at Lake Perry with the VanAllen crew! The boys have been begging and begging to go out on their boat so we were thrilled that it actually happened!! It was a day full of swimming, boating, and tubing- just like they like it! The water was perfect, the sun was shining, and we had lots of smiling boys on the boat!!! Good times!

Swimming and More Swimming

This summer is off to a good swimming start! It was a little cold at first- well, a lot cold! We opened the pool May 5 and I didn't get in until last week (early June!). But now that the sun has been shining, the pool is almost 90 degrees!! Lots of fun splashing around!

We've been battling a broken filter so far this summer, but it hasn't stopped them from swimming! And you won't believe who is going underwater now.......

Welcome Home Millie!

The time finally came to bring Millie home! She's been here for almost two weeks now and has jumped right into the family!! She's so playful, yet snuggly. She's been sleepy pretty well, although a few nights have felt like having Wyatt as a baby all over again! She potties outside more than she does inside! But for the most part, we are figuring out how to raise a puppy!!!
Here are some of Millie's adventures from her first few weeks home!

We love you Millie girl!!!

Wyatt, the @ Home Gymnast

Wyatt just can't get enough gymnastics in his life!! He just flips and jumps and hangs on just about anything he can find in the house!

After we feared a piece of furniture would topple him, we got out the pull up bar, which he takes advantage of quite often!!!
Straddle press handstands are his favorite!! (This was a screenshot of a video) He just moves too fast!
I guess all the work at home is paying off at the 2 hours a week he's at the gym! He's rocking it out there!!
