PawPaw's Birthday

PawPaw turned 66 today so we celebrated in style- in the backyard with a DQ ice cream cake!! Wyatt picked out the perfect cake! It was a special day celebrating how much we love our PawPaw!! We all are so very thankful for him!!
You can see why the boys love him so much? He's about as mature as they are ;-)

Happy Birthday PawPaw! We love you!!

Kindergarten FUN!

Kindergarten is SO much fun!! Wyatt is absolutely loving it, although he would like more homework :) Seriously though, his teacher is a dream and we love her so much!! It was the thing I prayed the most for and I'm so so so thankful that my prayer was answered!! So much fun and yet so much learning going on! I haven't been helping in the classroom like I was for Grant, but I'm hoping come 2nd quarter I'll be able to get involved more. I want to see more of those cute things!!!

Dates with Grant

Every other Saturday, Grant and I serve at church. We attend the 4:00 service and then serve at the 5:30 service. I teach in the 3rd-5th grade class and Grant helps in the nursery. Which he totally loves by the way!! He loves working with little babies and toddlers- its so cute! We usually get a chance to go out to dinner alone afterwards, since Levi and Wyatt aren't serving. It's been special for he and I to have those moments together and just talk about things and enjoy each others company. Alone time with Grant is a rarity, so I eat up every second I can get! Who wouldn't want some special time with this handsome fella?!?

Camping Out and Fire Pit

We sure miss our days living in Waukomis, where we could walk out of our house, into the woods and enjoy an awesome campfire!! It was definitely a sign of fall we adored! Its something we've missed doing living here in the suburbs ;-) Levi has been wanting to camp with the boys for quite some time, and now that the weather is cooling off in the evenings, they made it happen. When they went tent shopping, they also went fire pit shopping because they came home with both!!! They couldn't wait to get things set up and spend a boys night outdoors!!! (I had to stay inside with Millie. You know, because...um....she doesn't like camping?)

We've also had some impromptu fire pits after dinner because who doesn't want smores for dessert?

Now we just need to make it a permanent fixture in the yard so we don't keep searing circles into the grass!! I have a feeling these fire pit nights will be plentiful!

Afternoon at Scheels

One morning, Wyatt randomly asked if we could go to Scheels to ride the ferris wheel. I thought, why not?  So after school, we headed to Scheels. Although they thought we were just going to ride the ferris wheel, but I had much grander plans!! We not only did that, but we also went bowling a few times, played in the play place, but also ate dinner there as well. They were so cute saying, "Aw thanks Mom!" and "This is the best day!" and "We totally have to do this again!" I have to admit- we don't just go "do" stuff too often, especially during the week, so it was so refreshing to just go and have some fun!

Good times with my favorite boys!!

Arcade with Mimi

The boys are so fortunate to have Mimi and PawPaw right downstairs! They can see them and hug them everyday. Even get to go on special outings with Mimi just because!! One Saturday morning, then went to the arcade. They must've worn their lucky socks because they both won exactly what they were hoping to win- a Minecraft pig and a neon Monkey. Big dreams! ;)

Another half a year has passed and you both are officially 8.5 and 6.5! Closer to 9 and 7 everyday. That's a scary thought!! I'll do you half-birthday posts soon, but today, we celebrate (with brownies and number candles) what amazing gentleman you are growing into!
Love you my handsome hearts!

Millie Got Spayed

I am so thankful neither of my children have had to have surgery because it was heartbreaking to see our little puppy girl go off into surgery. I didn't think much of it until I took her off her leash and the nurse carried her away and closed the door. I actually got butterflies in my stomach. So strange! I went back later to pick her up and she was so pathetic looking. I  mean- look at this face...
She couldn't stand up, she could walk without tipping over. It was tough to watch. But after a few more hours the anesthesia finally wore off and she started acting little more like her usual self. We tried keeping her pretty still for the first day or so. She looked pretty adorable wearing her little pink onesies to keep her out of her stitches. She's pretty in pink and will be hopping around as good as new in no time!

Sonic and Parker Go to Korea

Levi had a Navy Reserve trip to Korea and anything he has a long trip to go on, the boys always send him off with one of their stuffed animals to keep him company. Since Levi was cramming as much as possible into one bag, the boys chose some of their smallest animals. According to the pictures Levi sent, it looks like Parker and Sonic had a great time in Korea!!
