Grant's Musical

The first graders just put on their musical, How Does Your Garden Groove? It might possibly have been one of my very favorite things I have ever watched!!! But I find it highly impossible NOT to smile while listening to little ones sing joyful noises!! But singing AND dancing WHILE wearing costumes really is just the best thing ever!!
We all had been working very hard on the musical for a few weeks- kids and parents alike. I had volunteered at the beginning of the year to help out. I had forgotten about that so when I went to the volunteer meeting and only 2 other moms were there and we found out we basically had to start all the costumes over from scratch, I was a little overwhelmed. I tried my best to stay away from costumes that needed actual sewing, as I have ZERO sewing skills. But thankfully my mom does, so she swooped in and helped me with some of the costumes I had to make! In all, we made 3 lettuces, 3 carrots, 3 peppers, and 4 string beans. I'm slowly starting to regain feeling in my fingertips after burning myself over and over again on hot glue! But I have to say- seeing those little veggies up there all excited and joyful was well worth it!!
Grant had really wanted to the Freddy Farmer! While I guess he was a "main character" he didn't have a whole lot more lines than any other kid. But he really wanted to stand out! Although he was happy to be one of two cabbages and had a line all to himself! Which by the way, he did AMAZING at!!!
A big shout out to his music teacher, Mrs. Morrison. She is so awesome with the kids! Every single one of those kids was excited to be up there, singing and dancing! That says a lot about how hard to works to make music fun!!! Good good stuff!!

Wyatt's Last Meet

Wyatt had his last gymnastics meet of the season!! He was so excited because he had been practicing SO hard!!!! Seeing how much he has grown in his skill since he started at 360 in October is just phenomenal!!!! I have so enjoyed watching my little baby out there doing his thing!! Butterflies in my stomach like I've never experienced before! It's just awesome!
They competed in the MO Valley Championships! They judged them based on their birthdays at the beginning of the season, so in the 6 and under category, there were 14 kids!!! Granted, half of them are already 7 and 7.5, so it was a little disadvantage for Wyatt having to compete against them. But he  did a great job! He even scored some personal bests!!!
Out of the 9 gyms they competed against, they WON the Championship!! It was so exciting!!
Here are a few glimpses of Wyatt in action!

Come to find out, Wyatt had to go to the bathroom since they were warming up, but he was too scared to miss something, so he didn't ask to go. So poor guy performed every event having to pee!!! Poor fella!!
Here are his scores from each meet! He had 3 personal bests on this meet!!
We are so so so proud of you Wyatt!! You always try your best! You're always confident and a good sport!! We can't wait til next season begins!!!

My Birthday!

The older you get, the less celebrating you do!! But we still had fun on my birthday anyway! A few days before my birthday, we celebrated at Power and Light with some friends! Always a good time celebrating with my birthday friend, Emily!
On my actual birthday, the boys made me a cake! Or maybe I should say they made me some sprinkles that had some cake on it. LOTS of sprinkles!! But also made with lots of love!! We also did some moving around of the Lego room in preparation for Mimi and PawPaw's big move!!
I can always feel the love on my birthday, no matter how big (or small!) the celebration may be!

Tooth Fairy #8

After school, Grant was running around outside with his friends and came running over to me saying, "How bad is it?" He showed me his mouth with a bloody tooth, but it was still hanging in there! I said, "Just pull it out and get it over with!" Ha, like that would ever happen!!! I knew it wouldn't last much longer though! Surprisingly, this was loose tooth #5 but it seemed to hang in there longer than the other teeth!
So last night, while I was at dinner with some friends, I get this text message from Levi with this picture:
"Look what just happened!"
Tooth #8 popped on out of there- FINALLY!!! I'm not quite sure what he was doing, or how it happened, but it was finally out of there! And now my big fellas has 4 gaping holes in his mouth! And he looks SO old!! So far his permanent teeth are looking pretty darn good!!
Look at that handsome smile!

Ernie Miller Park

I was a lucky mama and got to go on TWO field trips with Grant this year! They try and limit each parent to one field trip per year so every parent has the opportunity to attend, but someone backed out at the last minute, so of course I said yes when Mrs. Knapp asked me to come!!! It was a chilly day to be outside, but the sun was shining and no bug were out yet, so it was an awesome time for a wilderness field trip!
We got to search for bugs, learn how to read trail signs, talk about habitats and weather conditions. All that good sciencey stuff that Grant just loves!! And seeing him enjoying time with his friends always makes me smile!!!
Grant and his best buddy, Max. They sure don't have any fun together ;-)
 Grant and Owen!
 Picnic lunch with my fella!
All that hiking and these kiddos (and their teacher!) needed some R&R in the sunshine!
Such a great group of kiddos!!

Tooth Fairy #7

Just a few short weeks after tooth #6 fell out, tooth #7 was ready for his turn!! Walking home from school this day, Clyde was outside so the boys ran over to say hello. He said he had a treat for them, so he went inside and came back out with an ice cream bar! Such a sweet man- thankful to have him as our neighbor! The boys quickly ran home to enjoy their treat! As soon as Grant bit into his ice cream, his tooth literally popped out of his mouth and bounced onto the counter!
Tooth #7 was gone, just like that!!

Tooth Fairy left him a $5 bill! Somehow, she must never be fully prepared for what she leaves Grant because its been something different every time! ;-)

One of Those Nights

Tonight was one of those nights where I wish I had a button to make time freeze. It was one of those nights that my heart was so full of joy I couldn't stop smiling. It was one of those nights that I couldn't stop saying, "Thank you God! Thank you God!"
Perfect weather + Happy children = LOVE

You can take the gymnast out of the gym, but you can't take the gym away from the gymnast!

Mommy Moment

I got to Grant's school today a few minutes earlier than usual. Wyatt and I were sitting on the bench outside the art room. About 2 minutes later, their class came out of art! We saw Grant and Wyatt said "Hi Bubba!" His art teacher came over and said, "You must be Wyatt!" She smiled and said Grant just told her the sweetest sentiment in class a few minutes ago. He told her, "My brother will be in kindergarten next year. You will meet him next year. We have such a great relationship, probably better than any other brothers." She loved hearing that because normally she hears brothers/sisters bash their siblings and it just made my heart so happy to hear him talk so sweetly about his little brother! The best part is that they really do have a special relationship and I am forever thankful that God gave them to each other!
