Deanna Rose Family Day

A few days before school got out, Kindergarten celebrated with a family day at Deanna Rose. Once we dropped our kindie kids at school, they hopped in the bus and met us at Deanna Rose for a family day of fun!! All three kindergarten classes got to enjoy the morning playing and exploring with all of their friends! It was unseasonably cold, like most of May was. But the sun was shining and that was well appreciated! They all were running and chasing so much, they didn't even notice the cold!! Us parents though, brrrrrr!
While Deanna Rose has so many awesome things to explore, this group of crazy boys played in the play area for over an hour of our field trip!!! They said it was their "longest recess EVER!"

By 11:00, we all met in the picnic area for a kindergarten lunch! And of course, a few more group pictures!!
Mrs. Rottinghaus, how we adore her!! She is moving up to first grade next year, so we are praying and keeping our fingers crossed we get another chance to be with her again!!
It was a great day of family fun with all our kindie friends and families!!

Deanna Rose Fun!

We've had an unseasonably cool summer for the most part. We are used to multiple days in the triple digits, but more often than not, we've had temps in the 80's! And when its that nice, we make sure we head to Deanna Rose!! You can beat nice weather and free fun!!
The first time we went was just me and the boys! We started by watching the cow get milked, which we hadn't seen before! They couldn't believe how much milk the cow made in just a few minutes! We walked around and saw all the animals, did the playgrounds, and of course visited the gift shop!
I didn't have any cash on me that trip, so I told the boys next time we went, we'd do all the extra things, like mining, pony rides, and feeding the baby goats! We asked Christine and Ace to come along to join our fun! Apparently I was enjoying the fun too, because I didn't get too many pictures! But we have the bag of gems to prove our mining!!
Ace was not a fan of the baby goats, but the boys loved it! Grant didn't like the goats nipping at his shorts. He was very selective as to which goat deserved his bottle! He only chose the patient ones! Wyatt gave his bottle to every little guy that looking hungry! I think every goat got a taste from Wyatt's bottle! Then we did the pony rides!! The boys smiled the whole time I think!!
I'm happy that Grant will only be half day kindergarten so we can still take advantage of fun activities like this!! I can't wait to go in the fall!!!

Deanna Rose

One of my favorite places to take the boys in the spring/summer in Kansas City is Deanna Rose! So when Levi went on cross country for the second weekend in a row, I knew we needed to get out of Enid and cheer us up with some Kansas City fun! It's so hard to pack in everything I want to do in just three days! But Deanna Rose was on the top of my list!
The first time Grant went, he was just a few months over one and he loved it there! Wyatt's also been a few times when he was very little, but neither of them remembered too much about it. I knew it would be pretty crowded since it was such a beautiful day, so we didn't plan on staying too long- just enough to explore everything really quick! We fed the fish, the goats, rode pedal tractors, saw the cows and pigs, checked out the old schoolhouse, walked through the tee-pees, played on the playgrounds, and of course, checked out the gift shop! The boys had a great time, and I'm super happy we made it out there this summer!

Deanna Rose Farmstead

Today was a beautiful day again here in Kansas! We wanted to do something fun outside with the cousins and thought Deanna Rose Farmstead sounded like a great idea! Well, apparently so did half of Kansas City because it was CROWDED!! Grant had never been there before and his eyes were as big as saucers the entire time. He was pointing at everything wanting to see it all!! Unfortunately with so many other kids there, we weren't able to do and see everything we wanted! But we all had a great time! Grant fed the goats, went down a HUGE slide, played on the jungle gym, saw ducks, horses, cows, and many many goats!! We will definitely have to go back again!! Thanks cousins for a fun day!!
