Happy Easter!

We had a very low key Easter morning! We enjoyed a beautiful Easter service on Saturday evening, then came home to watch KU in the Final Four (they lost), so we stayed up super late! The boys slept in quite late, so when they finally rolled out of bed, we headed downstairs to see what the Mama Bunny brought! I told them this year the Easter Bunny wasn't coming- he was going to someone else's house who has never had a visit from the Easter Bunny. They were excited to see how I "did" Easter baskets! They came downstairs to check out their baskets and said, "WOAH!"

They each got a new swimsuit, socks, and flip flops. A few candy items, gum, dollar bills, rubber robots, pool toys, slime, and Hatchimal eggs.

The Mimi Bunny also came too :)
I hid 32 eggs + 14 Hatchimal eggs, so they had quite the hunt ahead of them!! It took them quite a while to find everything, and they said, "This was the best egg hunt EVER!!!"

They each had a dozen Hatchimal eggs to hatch- they love those things!!!
The rest of the day was spent watching The Bible on Netflix, cleaning the Lego room (and I cleaned my closet) and they finished the evening watching Harry Potter. It was such a nice relaxing day, just soaking in the goodness that comes with knowing that Jesus is alive and risen! I can't imagine a day without having that truth running through my veins!!
It even makes snow on April 1st bearable....

LEGO Easter Story

The boys have done the LEGO Easter story the past few years, but this year, they outdid themselves!!! I loved seeing what they thought were important details to add into their story. They truly get the whole meaning of Easter and I love that!! I took a 7 minute video of them telling their story! Such good stuff!
This is the Garden of Gethsemane. Jesus is praying and the disciples are sleeping.
Here is the Last Supper. Jesus is standing in the back. He's got his chalice of wine and a loaf of bread.
This is Judas after he betrayed Jesus.
This is when Jesus was sentenced to death by Pilate. Just below Pilate is a Roman guard, and standing behind him is Jesus and Barabbas. The high priests are there on the left. The group of people on the right where shouting, "Crucify him! Crucify him!"
This is the crucifixion scene. The guards are casting lots for his garments, and Mary, Mary, and John were at the feet of Jesus. The little red pieces are the blood dripping from the crosses. Jesus also has his inscription at the top of his cross. Seriously- no detail overlooked! Oh, there are also a bunch of skeleton bones scattered around because Golgotha means "place of the skull."
And here is the tomb where Mary and Mary went to visit Jesus' tomb and saw the stone rolled away and the angel told them, "He is not here, He has risen!"
