Pumpkin Patch Time!

It's no secret that I'm slightly OBSESSED with pumpkin patch pictures! I kind of look forward to it all year long. And no, I'm not kidding! The second those pumpkins are out, you better believe I'm there with my camera!!
Funny enough though, today was not a planned pumpkin patch day! Levi is flying ALL DAY today and probably will do the same the next few weekends. We were just out and about killing time this afternoon and did a drive by. Of course, the boys wanted to go look, so we did. But they had grubby outside play clothes on and I knew that our yearly pumpkin patch pictures could not be taken like that. So I told them today we would just look around and we'd come back another day to pick out a pumpkin and take pictures. But then I thought, "What the heck!? It's BEAUTIFUL outside. Levi probably won't make it to the pumpkin patch with us at all this season. And the pumpkins aren't picked over." So I did what any other pumpkin patch-picture-obsessed mom would do. I went home to change their clothes and came back!
I told them pictures first and then we'd pick pumpkins! They actually cooperated very well and I'm super happy to have got some great shots of my cute and oh-so-big fellas!! For a church parking lot in Enid, its not a bad little pumpkin patch!!

August-September Preschool Artwork

Now that I have two kids in school, I have triple the amount of artwork from last year. How is that even possible?? Maybe this year at preschool they've done more paper projects...or they don't hang up as much stuff at school...or because they go more days this year...either way, I'm up to my neck in preschool work and I can't get enough of it!! The problem is- WHAT TO DO WITH IT!? We still had artwork from last year hanging up in the playroom that I can't seem to tear myself away from. And it doesn't help that Grant remembers EVERY PIECE of work he's done and wonders where it is!! I've really got to figure out a system....
But like last year, I'm going to document some of my favorite pieces from each month so no matter if I keep them, or throw them away, I'll have them to look at forever!
August 26-30: A, Apple, Red
These large painted apples are one of my fave! They did alot more Red stuff too, but some of it went into their art scrapbook. Others have already hit the trash!
September 2-6: God Made Our World, Space, Color Blue
"In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth." Gen.1:1
 Rockets

Grant made his own constellation. Wyatt made a rocket in space!
September 9-13: God Made People & A Garden, Plants, Color Green, Letter G
"I am wonderfully made" Psalm 139:14
"Mirrors" to see how wonderful they are!
Green frog puppets.
September 16-20: Noah's Big Boat, Animals, Color Brown, Letter B
"Let every creature praise his holy name" Psalm 145:21
The rainbow showing God's promise. I'm super surprised at Grant's!!
The square enveolopes are supposed to be the ark, and the blue is the water, and you can see a "rainbow" at the top of Grant's on the left!
And of course, the doves!
September 23-27: Joseph's Colorful Coat, Fun with Colors
"Forgive and you will be forgiven" Luke 6:37
 Lifesize colorful coats!
Grant's Joseph on the left, Wyatt's on the right...with no hands..and possibly a broken neck?? :-)
Colorful pinwheels. Grant made his a double! :)
And that wraps up August and September's artwork. This is seriously about 1/3 of what was brought home!!  Any idea suggestions for how to keep oddly shaped artwork??
Can't wait til October's artwork!!!

September Instagram

Another month come on and gone! Another month of Instagram pics!

Football with Daddy

The boys insisted on me making some Banana Muffins. I gathered all our ingredients and my helpers disappeared. I mixed and baked and cooked and cleaned and still had no helpers! I went outside to see what they were doing and I saw the sweetest sight- a game of football with their dad! Oh, they were so cute!! Levi was trying to give them the basic rules, but he needed to get even more basic by teaching them how to hold a football. How to catch a football. What direction to run. You know, boy stuff!
I'm glad I snapped a few pictures before my camera battery died. This is the stuff boys lives are made of and I'm so happy they have their daddy to share it with!

Visit to Old Papa's

Before we headed back to OK from our fun festivities in Kansas City, we stopped by Old Papa's Farm on the way home! I always enjoy going there and seeing him and visiting my Grandma's house. The boys love going there too! And Papa always enjoys showing us all his trunk restorations he's been working on! But this time was even more special, because he had made one for me!
It was a great visit with Old Papa! I'm so happy to live close enough that we are able to visit him as often as we can!

My beautiful trunk in all its glory!!

PawPaw's Birthday

It worked out great that we were already in town to celebrate Ryan and Lisa's wedding, plus we were able to celebrate my dad's birthday! Sunday was an absolutely GORGEOUS day!! Levi and I were able to escape alone for a few hours while the boys got to enjoy some "no parent time" with my mom and dad! They played Playdoh, went to the park, and their favorite game- Destroy PawPaw! Doesn't sound like a nice game to play, I know, but its all in love and good fun!
Most boys love to wrestle with their dads and brothers. Instead of wrestling the PawPaw, they like to battle him, or "destroy" him! The four boys love making "plans" to attack PawPaw (think Kevin's battle plan on Home Alone!). They use their nerf guns, plastic guns and swords, whatever they can find! There is usually alot of tickling involved and LOADS of laughter!! PawPaw tickles them so much that they forget to breathe!
So when my mom took the boys to the grocery store to pick out the cake and told the baker what they wanted it to say, it turned out like this...
Everyone couldn't wait to give them their cards and gifts...

Because I can't NOT make something handprint/footprint related!

My mom bought him a Kindle Paperwhite. If my dad is anything, its goofy!! But that's why we love him so!
As as he leaned down to blow out his candle..
Somebody else beat him to it...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAWPAW!! WE LOVE YOU!!

Ryan and Lisa Get Married

My cousin, Ryan, got married this past weekend! We knew it was going to be a great family fun weekend! He and his new wife, Lisa, have been planning this beautiful event and when we woke up to pouring rain and cold temps, we all were a little worried that they were going to be able to have the outdoor wedding they planned. But all cooperated and the rain stopped an hour or two before!! It was a chilly 59 degrees, but they got to go through with everything they had planned!
Ryan and I were best friends growing up! We had so much in common, (ie, a love for sports, video games, and basketball cards, yes- I was "that" kind of girl!) and we always enjoyed being around each other! To this day, I love the time I get to spend with Ryan, although those times are few and far between! So to be there and watch him get married was just as exciting for me as it was for him!
They got married at Lone Summit Ran in Lee's Summit, MO. It was a beautiful location and I couldn't imagine their wedding being held anywhere else! The reception barwas dazzling and filled with lots of pretty accessories!
The kids' favorite part was probably the miniature golf place outside the reception barn, the playground behind the barn, and big lawn Jenga blocks out front, but the show stopper was definitely the dancing! All four boys danced their little booties off! I took over 15 videos of Grant dancing because he was just cracking me up with all his moves- "The Worm," "The Church Dance," "The Boogie." They were just awesome to watch!!
It was a great day celebrating a great man and his new bride!!
So proud of you Ryan!! Love you!
His face when he saw Lisa walk down the aisle was priceless!! His first reaction was, "Woah!" And his second reaction was smiling for ear to ear, choking back tears! How could you not feel the love?!

My other cousin, Chris, looking ever so dapper!
My cousin, Courtney, Ryan's sister, looked beautiful as a bridesmaid!
 My mom and dad!
The one picture of us we get taken every 6 months or so!
 My dad!
PawPaw and his four crazy boys!!
 I'm a lucky girl!!
 My mom!
The Smreker family, minus those in the wedding party. I sure do love my family!
